   Ankor is a wholesale trading company in Leidschendam, supplying hand and garden tools under the brand Skandia. It also provides hardware products for the DIY market purposes and more the sophisticated tools for professionals.

The company undertook a lengthy selection process when improving its purchasing systems. It compared the functionality of some popular business software like BAAN and X-logic, some WMS software and some specialised inventory management add-on software from FIM Systems. FIM’s ABC Simulation and Slim4 software were considered more functionally fit, had the additional advantage of avoiding a complete and expensive swap-out of the main company system and were chosen.

After implementation, Ankor had a clear picture of the weekly purchase requirements. A-class items now achieve a 99%customer service level. Purchasing is far less stressful and more time is being spent on the assessment of supplier quality and reliability.
