By enhancing its ERP system with Slim4, ODS has reduced its stock and its efficiency has improved. In April 2004, Slim4 was introduced into the purchasing department, which had hitherto relied upon paper stock lists. Purchase orders were processed six times more rapidly. Time saved was used to search new supply opportunities, which led to more frequent deliveries and smaller order quantities, resulting in a 30% stock reduction.
